“Central Georgia Technical College has always been a higher education beacon in this part of the state,” said Gordon State College President Dr. Kirk A. Nooks. “This articulation demonstrates that students can complete their academic journey locally and maintain their commitment to developing the talent base within the region.”

Administrators at both schools are calling the agreement an active educational partnership in providing educational opportunities for currently enrolled and potential students of both institutions.

Allen, president of CGTC.  Partnering with Gordon State College for articulation of our new AS in General Studies is a win for our students and our local communities. Gordon State is a stellar institution, and we know that by signing this agreement for seamless transfer, we can greatly increase access and provide extremely affordable options for students interested in ultimately obtaining a four-year credential.”

This is the first such agreement between the two institutions.

“We welcome the students from CGTC who want to complete their education in one of the four disciplines included in the articulation agreement,” said Dr. Jeffrey Knighton, Gordon State College Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “Our goal is to help students earn a degree that prepares them for the regional workforce. This articulation agreement is a big step in reaching that goal.”

General studies is one of the newest degrees offered by CGTC. Under the agreement, eligible students may pursue a bachelor’s degree from Gordon State in one of the following areas; Human Services, Health Information Management, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Management and Administration.
